The Special Pensions Amendment Act 13 of 2008 aims:
- to amend the Special Pensions Act, 1996, so as:
- to define and further define certain expressions;
- to extend the right to a pension to persons 30 years of age, but not yet 35 years of age, on 1 December 1996;
- to extend the surviving spouse's pension, orphan's pension and funeral benefit to certain persons;
- to regulate the administration of the Act;
- to amend Schedule 3 to the Act; and
- to provide for matters connected therewith.
