13 of 2008

The Special Pensions Amendment Act 13 of 2008 aims:

  • to amend the Special Pensions Act, 1996, so as:
    • to define and further define certain expressions;
    • to extend the right to a pension to persons 30 years of age, but not yet 35 years of age, on 1 December 1996;
    • to extend the surviving spouse's pension, orphan's pension and funeral benefit to certain persons;
    • to regulate the administration of the Act;
    • to amend Schedule 3 to the Act; and
  • to provide for matters connected therewith.
