South African Maritime and Aeronautical Search and Rescue Act 44 of 2002

The South African Maritime and Aeronautical Search and Rescue Act 44 of 2002 intends:

• to incorporate the International Convention on Maritime Search and Rescue, 1979, and Annex 12 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation, 1944, into South African law;
• to establish the South African Maritime and Aeronautical Search and Rescue Organisation; and
• to provide for matters connected therewith.
