61 of 2000

The National Prosecuting Authority Amendment Act 61 of 2000 intends:

to amend the National Prosecuting Authority Act, 1998, so as:
- to make provision for the establishment of the Directorate of Special Operations;
- to make provision for the existing Investigating Directorates to become part of the Directorate of Special Operations;
to amend the Interception and Monitoring Prohibition Act, 1992 [repealed in September 2005], so as to make provision for applications for directions in terms of that Act by the head of the Directorate of Special Operations; and
to provide for matters connected therewith.
