The Anti-Personnel Mines Prohibition Act 36 of 2003 intends:

to enact the "Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on their Destruction" into law;
to provide for the destruction of anti-personnel mines;
to provide for domestic and international inspections;
to provide for international cooperation; and
to provide for matters connected therewith.
