The Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Mr Enver Surty will on Friday, 31 October 2014 handover Portia Primary School in Eden Klein, Cape Town, which will be the fifth school to be handed over as part of the Accelerated Schools Infrastructure Development Initiative, ASIDI.
The Accelerated Schools Infrastructure Delivery Initiative (ASIDI) is a massive R8.2-billion public-private partnership programme and one of the Government's Strategic Infrastructure Projects (SIPs). ASIDI aims to replace some 510 schools in the country built from inappropriate materials.
