Department of Economic Development and Planning to sign a level of agreement with Companies Intellectual Property Registration Office (CIPRO)

The Mpumalanga Department of Economic Development and Planning (DEDP) and Companies Intellectual Property Registration Office (CIPRO) will sign a service level agreement on the 19 of May 2009. This is part of CIPRO’s efforts to expand access to their services to the people of Mpumalanga.

The Head of Department Mr M Mazibuko and Dr E Conradie who will be representing the CEO of CIPRO will sign the agreement that will ensure that the registration services for close co-operatives and companies are provided in the province for the first time.

The agreement will bring to an end the inconvenience that the Mpumalanga populace had to endure for many years. The agreement will enable the Department of Economic Development to provide CIPRO services thus minimising the travel cost and intricacy that business people had to undergo when seeking to legitimise their businesses.

In order to ensure seamless and smooth provision of services, the officials from the department and Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency (MEGA) will be trained to execute business registration services efficiently.
