The Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga will address the ORT SA Symposium on Wednesday, 28 November 2012 at the Central Johannesburg College in Alexandra.
ORT SA is a non-profit organisation whose vision is ‘Educating for Life’. The hope is that by implementing ORT’s Mathematics and Science Programmess in collaboration with the GDE, it will help improve pupils’ performance, stimulate young pupils’ interests in Mathematics and Science and lay a solid foundation for pupils to study these gateway subjects at a secondary and tertiary level.
The Alexandra Bidvest ORT SA Mathematics Project which began in 2007 in Alexandra, in response to the identified need for more training for teachers in Mathematics. There will also be a presentation by teachers on best practices in Mathematics and Science teaching in the Foundation and Intermediate Phases.
