Presidency on President Jacob Zuma's Parliamentary programme

President's Parliamentary programme

The Democratic Alliance party issued a statement today to the effect that President Jacob Zuma apparently does not want to answer questions in the National Assembly.

President Zuma was available and ready to answer written and oral questions the whole of 2013 and previous years, and the year 2014 is no different, except for the national general elections.

The last reply to parliamentary questions in the National Assembly was submitted on the 19th of December 2013, only last month, which does not demonstrate a President who is unwilling to be accountable to parliament.

The President's annual programme is still being finalised as usual around this time and once it is ready, it will be communicated to affected stakeholders through the correct channels.
